한 아이가 있습니다. 그 아이는 자신을 찍는 카메라를 총기로 오해해 겁을 먹은 눈을 하고는 두손을 머리위로 올리고 있습니다. 아이의 이름은 ‘아디 후데아’ 이 작품의 모티브가 된 사진은 sns를 통해 빠르게 퍼져나갔고 전세계에 시리아 내전의 참상을 알리는 역할을 했습니다.
하지만 미디어를 통해 전해진 먼 나라의 내전 소식은 사람들의 가슴을 아프게 했지만 이내 우리들은 그런 일이 있어나 싶게 일상으로 돌아가곤 합니다.
저는 그런 타인의 일에 무심해지는 현대인들의 태도를 표현하고자<시리아 아이>를 작업하면서는 의도적으로 더 밝은 색을 쓰고 안에 담고 있는 내용과 상반되는 느낌을 주려고 했습니다.

If you order now, the manufacturing process begins on 12/17, and the goods are to be shipped out before 12/24.
