저는 여행을 가게 되면 그 여행지의 이미지가 인쇄되어 있는 티셔츠를 구매해 그 여행을 추억합니다.
티셔츠를 좋아하는데 여수에는 여수만의 티셔츠가 없을까요? 이런 생각을 하다 디자인하게 되었습니다.

이순신 장군 동상의 상체부분을 이용해서 팝아트 이미지로 표현했습니다. 혹시나 이런 이미지가 이순신 장군의 명성에 누가 될까 앤디워홀의 마릴린 먼로에 대한 정보를 찾아봤는데 이렇게 나오네요.

그들이 우리 시대 최고의 섹스 심벌이기 때문에 그랬던 건 아니다.
나는 매릴린 먼로를 그냥 평범한 사람이라고 생각한다.
그런데 내가 그녀를 이렇게 강렬한 색깔로 그린 이유는 아름다웠기 때문이다.
아름다웠기 때문에 예쁜 색으로 칠한 것이다.
